The Anti Human Trafficking Projects aims to rescue, rehabilitate and raise awareness about human trafficking in North and South Dinajpur districts which are a hotbed of this crime.

The Urban Slum Project in Durgapur and the Community Development Project are aimed at creating sustainable development in economically and socially downtrodden communities.

The inception of the Diocese of Durgapur, Church of North India, dates back to 1972. In 2012 the Diocese celebrated its 40th Anniversary. Bordered by Uttar Dinajpur in the north, Kharagpur in the South, Kalna in the East and Koreng in the West, the Diocese covers an area of 43,340 sq.kms.

 

The missionary work in this area began about 172 years ago. Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society (WMMS) sent their first missionary, Rev. J. Richards in 1869. He established a school in 1870 in Bankura...

The Church is more than four walls...

At the Diocese of Durgapur we believe in welcoming everyone to experience the love and forgiveness of our Lord. We believe that the Church exists beyond the four walls of the building, it is the people who are the embodiment of the spirit and love of our Heavenly Father and to that end, we wish welcome everyone to partake in the Lord's blessing.
